Melody runs by scale degree from j: n m , . / are 3 4 5 6 7 below it, the rows above climb to 0 and -. Shift or Caps Lock lifts the melody an octave. The 8va button on the melody side lifts it an octave too. Hold Z X C V B to change any chord — each does what its button by the chord tower says (to start with sus2, add9, sus4, ♭7 and maj7; ♭7 with maj7 gives a 6th). They can also invert the chord: 6, 6/4, and 6/5, 4/3, 4/2, which make it a 7th chord. Every block's keys can be changed in Edit mode.
For the round buttons in the Buttons view, on this device. Like the keyboard, each button sits where its key is on a computer keyboard. Filling the screen, the notes run in rows by pitch, low to high, and the chords by how often they are used, I first; on a tall screen the two sides may sit one above the other. Auto fills the screen on a touch screen, and wherever the keyboard layout's buttons would be too small to play.
Rebuild a side from the scale's own preset. Your other side is untouched.
Digital Accordion (formerly Key Blocks) grows out of Melody Tower and Chord Tower: one tower of notes, one tower of chords, both in the same key, played together on one keyboard. Like an accordion, the left hand plays chord buttons and the right hand plays the melody — the bellows between the two sides open while you play. Tap a button to play it. Slide between buttons. Buttons puts them where Accordion Builder's standard board (or your own board) puts them; Panels stretches them to fill the sides for thumbs, with the notes as a grid or in Design A or B; Keys shows them laid over your keyboard. Unlock a side with its switch to edit its blocks: pitch or chord, size, keys, or add and remove. The chord presets follow each scale's own harmony — I V IV in major, i ♭II ♭III in Phrygian, I7 IV7 V7 in blues — and the scales run from the diatonic modes to pentatonic, whole tone, octatonic and further afield.
